HOW TO SAVE MONEY
WHEN ORDERING FLOWERS
BE INFORMED & ORDER DIRECT from the local florist
personally delivering your flower order!
What's the difference between calling Florist And Gifts Of Orlando to personally delivery your local Central Florida floral orders or calling one of those Brokers or Networks (800 numbers or dot-com floral companies) that we call "Order Gatherers"?
Our Local orders do not have an additional service charge...They usually have a service fee of $9.95 - $14.95 per order. This fee is NOT the delivery charge. It is a fee for them to take your order.
We have a physical location where orders are custom designed on site....They probably are located in a Telemarketing Center.
We have "experienced designers" on staff to “create” your design....They take only orders from a catalog or picture.
We "hands on" service our orders
so as to avoid problems....As "Order Gatherers", with such volume of orders, refunding problems is NOT a problem
We know what's available today and of the best quality....They take orders from a picture and do not actually know if your specific item is available until they pass the order on to the “local florist delivering your order”
Our Local orders have a minimal delivery fee with Complimentary Tuxedo Attire....They might not charge delivery but "pad" the price to cover the delivery.
We deliver flowers “florist designed” and guarantee freshness to the recipient....They might ship direct from a grower in a box (although the picture shows you arranged in a vase) and they guarantee 100% if the recipient is not home it will be “left at the door”.
We will value you as a customer and not just another order....With them, you usually will get a different person each time you call.
We fill your order in hopes to make you our customer for life....They take your order, take a commission & then let us fill your order!
THEY ARE NOTHING WITHOUT
"YOUR LOCAL FLORIST" !
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS-
Q. How can I tell if I'm ordering from a
local florist in the community to which
I want my flowers delivered?
A. Unfortunately, the web and the yellow pages are full of companies posing as local florists. They uses phrases such as 'serving your city name' or 'servicing your city name.' In some cases, they have your city name on their website or ad but are actually located hundreds if not thousands of miles away. Legitimate local sites will include their physical addresses as well as local phone numbers. On the web, check out their 'About Us' sections. Hint: If a site or ad doesn't contain a local address and local phone number, you can be 99.9% sure it's not located in the city to which you're sending your flowers.
Q. How much can I save?
A. The vast majority of 'flower broker' web sites charge from $9.95 to $14.95 for the convenience of transferring your order to a local flower shop. Some even charge an additional surcharge if you want to place your order over the phone! Not us. We're happy to talk to you and give you free professional advice! Ordering a fresh flower arrangement from us or your LOCAL full-service florist can really save you money.
Q. Is it really 'free delivery' ?
A. Many order brokers show a pricing system quite different from your local flower shop. Their prices shown generally include the item plus a 'pad' of $7 to $10 to cover delivery by the local flower shop. An additional service fee of $9.95 to $14.95, is also charged for the convenience of placing the order through them. This is NOT your delivery fee. The local delivering florist, per wire service rules, is absolutely permitted to deduct their local delivery fee from the total order. In reality, unless a company is delivering the flowers, themselves, they cannot claim free delivery - it's just simply included in the total price of your item. Deceptive? Yes. Illegal? Maybe. Savvy shoppers also often notice that the 'free delivery' sites actually cost more than the ones that clearly state their delivery prices.
Q. Need something special?
A. Your local florist knows what's in season, knows what's available and can suggest ideas that can be custom-made and affordable, even on short notice. We are not just “sales associates” sitting in front of computer screens. We are real, professionally trained florists!
Q. Does your shop send flowers to other cities outside your delivery area in the US?
A. Absolutely! We network with 1000's of professional florists in the US. We offer this convenience for our LOCAL customers who want us to ensure that the flowers they send out-of-area are as thou ghtful, prompt and fresh as the ones we deliver locally and we feel confident that your flower-buying experience with us will be a very satisfying one. Our #1 source of new customers is from referrals by our current customers. We charge only a small $5 service fee for us to transfer your order (remember, the brokers charge up to $14.95) and we add an additional $9.95 given to the receiving florist for delivery. Sorry, we do not service international orders at this time.
Q. Butcher, baker, candlestick maker,
flower shop?
A. Ever think the flowers you sent out-of-town seemed less than what your local shop provided for you, lacking the artistic touch, all the pictures looking the same on various websites? Why? Antiquated network rules require the delivering florists to pay commissions to the “Selling Order Gatherer” and “Networks” ranging from 27 - 29% of the total value of each order! Years ago, when orders were transferred simply between professional florists, the commissions earned helped offset the discounts given on orders filled from other florists. Not so today.... Many of these “brokers” have no real flower shop so they never fill any fresh flower arrangement orders, but they DO take a cut of the profit. Your local professional florist is facing challenges daily to absorb these deep discounts while still trying to provide top quality flowers, designers and service. Supporting Local Florists helps ensure you a near-by quality, artistic, thoughtful resource for all your flower needs.
